In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Prompt Response:
There was this thing that happened that landed on the news, it was about this 'motel 6' right in front of my neighborhood where 6 men were arrested, accused of trafficking 2 juveniles. This was in Fulton county, where I used to live, school was still ongoing and I never knew about this until I was done with my exams. This was very shocking for me, because something like this had happened near where I live and that there is a possibility I went to school with one of those girls. Of course, the motel closed and the people living there were provided someplace else to live, I guess this situation can make a person be in disbelief when something like this can happen in real life and not just on the news.
Summary:
Today we continued to read the text with Mr. Rease, we managed to finish the text during class and were given an assignment to work on based on the characters personalities. Each person on our table is to choose one character from the text and write down the information about them in the graph, I chose Emily. Mr. Rease said that eventually one day we will work with other people that picked the same character as you.
Reflection:
I learned more about Emily's character while doing the worksheet, despite the text never revealing her thoughts or perspective on certain things, there are still ways to look past the meanings in the text to find the answer.
