Prompt: Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly.
Prompt Response:
This break was nothing different like the previous ones, I stayed at home like always and basically just did things that I usually do on a normal weekend. I'd either sleep or do some hobbies like crafting things, I also like to catch up on some shows I didn't have time for and play games with my friend. This break really helped me relax and catch up on a lot of sleep, it also gave a lot of time for myself, which was needed, and I took the extra time to study on other subjects I need to work on.
Summary:
Today we read a poem and watched a video about "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou. After we were done reading the poem, we had a worksheet to complete each side holding a graph for similes and metaphors. Our job was to find six similes from the poem for one side and explain their meaning while on the other side it will be seven metaphors. Most of us didn't finish and were told it would be turned in tomorrow.
Reflection:
I learned how the speaker of this poem uses similes and metaphors to show how much confidence and bravery they hold against their oppressors.
