Prompt: Now that you have completed the rhetorical analysis essay, reflect on your growth. Explain how this experience impacted your confidence as a writer and whether you feel prepared to continue analyzing complex speeches and texts in American Literature. Support your reflection with specific references to the writing process.

Prompt Response:

Well I did better than I usually do when it comes to writing essays, the one thing that hasn't changed was not completing the essay in time. I have an issue with that for some reason, I improved slightly and surprisingly wrote a lot more than I usually am able to. I can say its embarrassing that I struggle to write an essay with a time limit, my brain does not think that fast and its obvious that's an issue and not acceptable especially if I plan to go to college one day. So I have no excuses and always accept it, the only thing I can do is learn from it and continue to try, I guess my confidence didn't change much, its as I expected and maybe it boosted a little more since I managed to think and write effortlessly more than before. I have a feeling with more practice I might be able to continue analyzing complex speeches and texts in the future. My brain stopped when it came to the third paragraph with the rhetorical word, diction, which was dumb of me and I could have finished in time if had I not slowed down.

Summary:

Today was when we wrote our Rhetorical Analysis Essay, for the whole block period we are supposed to write accordingly to the rubric, the introduction paragraph, thesis, body paragraphs and the conclusion. The majority of us were able to complete it in time, unfortunately I wasn't and I somewhat planned to complete the rest when I got home immediately but I had the misfortune to deal with the monthly cycle and cramps that bothered me all day.

Reflection:

I can reflect that I will get a bad grade for this essay for not completing it but on a positive note I can say that I improved writing an essay, for once it seemed decent and not mumble jumble. I managed to write more than I usually am capable of with a time limit, embarrassing that even with a block period I failed to complete but what is done, is done.
