Prompt: People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

Prompt Response:

I cannot think of remember a time I would have needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think and understand myself better, I would not know since I'm on my own most of the time. There are times when I needed distance because I was being overstimulated with the commotion and needed a breather, but I wouldn't say it was to help understand myself more. The only thing that I would better understand myself in that situation was to think what made me feel overwhelmed and the way I reacted.

Summary:

Today we were given a worksheet of a Theme Analysis chart, one side is based on chapter 2, while the other chapter 3. We are supposed to read both chapter 2 and 3 independently, and fill in the chart ourselves. It was supposed to be done quickly, but the majority of us did not get to complete it in time, so we have to do it for homework.

Reflection:

I can reflect that I did overthink the themes and forgot to remind myself that there is no right answer and that its based on my interpretation. The themes could be used on any box, but I thought too hard on what would be right.
