Prompt:  Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Prompt Response:

This topic that I have, border control / immigration, is somewhat difficult for me to answer or solve, I don't want to mix up my bias views on the situation to effect the way I will try to research this question. With the state of this country today and the current immigration situation, I have to see the majority of my people be treated worse and other immigrants. Two different perspectives or factors related to my topic would be those who see the deportation as part of national security and necessary, while the other side would oppose the harsh treatment and advocate for humane treatment. Understanding multiple viewpoints is important because can help people avoid a bias opinion on a research paper and allow them to see the complexity of the situation more deeply.

Summary:

Today we continued to work with our groups, we had to choose a Research Question based on the topics we received. Mr. Rease went over 7 steps with us, showing us how to research our topics. We should also keep a copy of an article we plan to use for our research. For the remaining of class each group should have 10 phrases that can be used to search our topics, with each group member making at least 3 phrases.

Reflection:

I can reflect on today that the session was not too hard to understand.
