Prompt: Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

Prompt Response:

I have a decent amount of encounters with a homeless person, one time me and my family went to a buffet after church and right by the entrance there was this person, who might have been homeless, asking people for money. My mom usually does not indulge into situations like these, I told the man that I was sorry and I had no money to give to him. I was not lying, since I had no use to carry money with me nor did I have much anyway, but I did feel bad and did not want him to think that I was lying. Of course, I had the same encounters just like this and answered the same each time, especially when I was a kid who felt bad enough to pray to God to take care of them.

Summary:

Today we read a text called, "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" by Flannery O'Conner, as a class and for each paragraph we complete, we work on one question each. Mr. Rease first played a biography video of the author and called on each person to read one paragraph, for every time they were done reading he talked about each paragraph with us. We only made it to the third paragraph of the day and by the end of class we worked on our blogs.

Reflection:

I learned how to make short concise answers for the questions, through Mr. Rease's instructions and overview.
